You flourish the weapon used in the casting, imbuing it with arcane magic and releasing it through the weapon.
As part of the casting of the spell you can make a melee attack with the weapon used for the casting of the spell against one creature within the weapons range, doing the flourish immediatly after the melee attack.
You can release the magic in the weapon by finishing the flourish in one of the following ways:
Thrust. You release the magic within the weapon in a singular strike. Make either a melee spell attack against one creature within 5 feet of you or a ranged spell attack against one creature you can see within 30 feet of you. On a hit, the target takes 6d8 force damage and you can push it back 5 feet if the target is a Medium or smaller creature.
Slash. You flourish the weapon around you, releasing the magic in multiple slashes against each creature you can see within 10 feet of you. Each creature must make a Dexterity saving throw. A target takes 4d8 force damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
Blow. You strike the ground with your weapon, dispersing the magic through it. Each creature in a 20-foot cone must make a Strength saving throw. On a failed save, a creature takes 5d8 force damage and is knocked prone. On a sucess, a creature takes half as much damage and isn’t knocked prone.
