Ancient Lightning

A nerve-frying arc of lightning leaps towards a creature or object within range, chaining to nearby creatures. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 6d8 lightning damage. Any creature within 30 feet of the original target takes half the damage as the original. All creatures that receive lightning damage from this spell must pass a CON saving throw or be paralyzed until the end of their turn.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, the lightning damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 5th.
