The caster pushes towards the target with one or both hands, harnessing their will into raw magical force. A wave of telekinetic energy issues forth towards the area immediately in front of the caster up to 5 feet. The target makes a successful Strength save against the caster's Spell DC. A failed save sends the target reeling backwards up to 5 feet, with an optional additional Dexterity save to knock the target prone.
This spell may also be used two additional ways:
- As a reaction to interrupt an incoming melee attack or nonmagical projectile, such as an arrow. A failed save simply causes the attack to miss, sending an arrow off-course or halting a sword in mid-swing, with no other effects.
- As a means of temporarily creating a space free from effects such as poisonous gas or fog. This effect will last only for the turn following the casting and only the 5-foot space the Forceful Push effects, after which the gas will refill the space.
