Alzafeus’ Animated Quill

You touch a quill and animate it. The animated quill lasts for the duration or until you dismiss it as an action. The quill falls harmlessly to the ground if it is ever more than 10 feet away from you or if you cast this spell again.

You can use your action to control the quill. You may select up to one page of text and have the quill make an exact copy, or you may dictate what it writes. Alternatively you may have the quill record everything that is spoken aloud within 10ft of it.

The quill can't attack or activate magic items.
