You touch a living sentient creature. Provided that the creature is willing, the spell enfolds them into a cocoon and then allows the soul to reshape the body to reflect their true self. If the target is not willing, the spell fails.
The magic reshapes the creature's body allowing the creature to permanently change the sex, race, height (within new race's average range), weight, and appearance of their form. If a creature would gain a new subtype by the use of this spell, they gain that subtype in addition to their original subtype. While undergoing this spell a creature can rearrange their original stat scores and racial bonuses to reflect a change in the physical form's inherited traits. They cannot change any ASIs they have already allotted or alter current class levels without DM approval.
After undergoing this transformation a creature cannot be the target of this spell again for a period of a year and a day, to give the creature time to adapt to their new form.
The metamorphosed creature recalls its life and experiences. It retains the capabilities it had in its original form, except for any changes it made to its statistics or racial traits.
