A miracle that creates a giant lightning orb of spouting light. Crafted in ancient times by the God of Sun, but later forbidden by the same deity. Was it to protect the world from hatred, or sorrow?
Scholars debate if this was a prototype for the first Sun Spears and Solar Spears or a derivative.
One cannot hope to harness the power of the gods, but with a little help from lady luck, this spell will destroy your foes.
Using a holy symbol or talisman you hurl a small ball of condensed lightning into the air 30 feet above you. It takes one round for the ball to rise the full 30 feet. Upon doing so it releases 6 different lightning strikes at the start of your turn, 2 per round for a total of 3 rounds then vanishes. The lightning strikes are random, roll a d8 to determine the direction of the lighting bolt and consult the table below.
- North
- North East
- East
- South East
- South
- South West
- West
- North West
All targets that are within a 60-foot line of the ball of lightning after determining the direction of the blast of lightning must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take 2d6 lightning damage. On a success, nothing happens.
