This spell animates a Construct servant. Choose a non animated construct body built for the purpose of this spell within range. The body can be crafted by anyone proficient with smith's, woodcarver's or tinker's tools and anyone who knows this spell also knows how to craft it. The crafting process costs 25 gp and takes 5 days, additionally a crystal core worth 100 is required for the construct to be animated. A crystal used for this purpose cannot be used as a spell component at any point afterwards. Your spell imbues the target with a mimicry of life, animating it as a Construct creature. The target becomes a Construct servant (the DM has the creature's game statistics).
On each of your turns, you can use a Bonus Action to mentally Command any creature you made with this spell if the creature is within 60 feet of you (if you control multiple Creatures, you can Command any or all of them at the same time, issuing the same Command to each one). You decide what action the creature will take and where it will move during its next turn, or you can issue a general Command, such as to guard a particular Chamber or corridor. If you issue no commands, the creature only defends itself against Hostile Creatures. Once given an order, the creature continues to follow it until its task is complete.
Creatures animated by this spell know all languages known by the caster but cannot speak due to a lack of vocalisation organs. When animated they have no other proficiencies than this but can gain them in any way other creatures can for example by spending downtime. Casting the Mending spell on a creature animated by this spell restores 2d6 hit points. If a creature animated by this spell dies, the main body is damaged beyond repair and cannot be returned to a functional state through use of ordinary tools or the mending spell while the crystal core can be reused in a new body. If a previously used crystal core is used to animate a new creature, that creature will have all the memories and proficiencies of the creature that the crystal core previously belonged to.
The creature is under your control for 24 hours, after which it stops ceases to be animated. To maintain the animation of the creature for another 24 hours, you must cast this spell on the creature again before the current 24-hour period ends. This use of the spell reasserts your control over up to four Creatures you have animated with this spell, rather than animating a new one.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th Level or higher, you animate or reassert control over two additional Construct Creatures for each slot above 3rd. Each of the Creatures must have it's own body.
