A black 20-foot-radius cloud swirls into existence at a point you choose within range. The cloud's area is lightly obscured and removes 4 feet of height from nonmagical ferrous metals and vegetable matters in its area that isn't being worn or carried at the start of a round.
If a creature wearing armor or carrying a weapon (both of the listed materials) ends their turn inside the cloud, the objects are partly dissolved and take a permanent and cumulative −2 penalty to their AC or attack and damage rolls. Armor is destroyed if the penalty reduces its AC to 10 and weapons are destroyed if its penalty drops to -5. Creatures that are not wearing armor in the cloud are prone to having other carried equipment dissolved.
Creatures made wholly or partly of the listed materials treat the area as difficult terrain and makes a Constitution saving if they end their turn inside of it. The creature takes 8d8 necrotic damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one.
