You contaminate a creature you can see within range with an infectious disease that wracks the body. The target must succeed on a Constitution saving throw or take 1d8 necrotic damage and be poisoned until cured.

Additionally, if a creature starts its turn within 5 feet of a creature poisoned by this spell, it must also succeed on a Constitution saving throw or become poisoned and take 1d8 necrotic damage.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the necrotic damage increases by 1d8 for every slot level above 3rd.
