Touch a non-magical arrow and imbue it with magic, causing it to glow a faint color of your choice. The arrow casts dim light in a 5ft radius around it until the start of your next turn. A creature you hit with this arrow will take extra radiant damage equal to your spellcasting modifier, and a bolt of fire, appearing as the same chosen color, will shoot directly toward another creature that is within 15ft of the initial target. If there are multiple creatures in this range, the caster chooses a creature to target specifically, then, they roll 1d6 on the following table:
1-2: The bolt hits the target.
3-4: The bolt misses the target and disappears, hitting nothing.
5: The bolt hits a random creature in the 10ft radius that is not the target.
6: The bolt backfires and hits the caster.
Anything the bolt hits is dealt 1d6 fire damage. When the spell ends, the arrow is turned to ash as if it were burned.
At Higher Levels: At 5th level, the arrow deals 1d6+Spellcasting Modifier, and the flame deals 2d6. Both are increased by one die again at 11th and 17th levels.
