Uno's Card of Reversal

Devised by the Archmage Uno during the Age of Divinity to infuriate his enemies, this spell is almost universally banned throughout most civilizations and legally organized mage duels.

You spend your action focusing upon a fine net of runic energy, woven not to dispel a target's casting, but capture it. Until the start of your next turn, if a target creature within 60ft of you which you can perceive casts a spell of level 3 or lower you may use your reaction to steal their spell. For all intents and purposes, the target's spell is dispelled for them, and as part of your used reaction, you instead cast it as if originating from yourself, using the Card of Reversal's spell slot.

If you do not use your reaction during the round, you may use an action again to extend the duration for another round, following the same rules. You may do this until you use your reaction, you are no longer in initiative, or you choose to stop concentrating. Either way, the spell slot will be consumed.

In the event that you do not recognize the spell you are reversing, or should the DM decide, you may roll an Arcana check as appropriate to determine if you successfully Reverse-Cast the spell, or if it is simply dispelled.
