Arcane Lance

An intensely bright blue spear forming a line 100 feet long and 1 inch wide streaks from your hand in a direction you choose. Each creature in the line must make a Dexterity saving throw. A creature takes 8d6 force damage on a failed save, or half as much on a successful one.

The spear is actually a thin ray that can penetrate non-magical barriers up to 5 feet thick. Creatures in the path of the ray do not receive a bonus from cover to their Dexterity saving throws against this spell.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a slot of 5th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 4th.
