Upon speaking the words of The Melded One, the caster takes on the appearance and form, including clothing and equipment, of another creature similar in type (i.e humanoid) that is freshly dead. You must see the corpse either in the flesh or through scrying to appear thinner or fatter, taller or shorter, or somewhere in between. The assumed form must be corporeal. Some creatures cast this spell before consuming their victim, which is not always the case or necessary. After the likeness becomes fully consumed, which takes about 1d4 days, you can assume this new likeness at will. By changing to this new form, your body can undergo a limited physical transmutation such as adding or subtracting one or two limbs, or changing weight up to one-half your base weight. If the form selected happens to have wings, you can fly up to a speed of 30 feet with poor manipulation. If the form has gills, you can breathe underwater. You cannot, however, assume the likeness of a creature that is of a different size category or type of you. (i.e Gnomes cannot become Goliaths and Humans cannot become Owlbears.) Your physical, mental, and natural abilities do not change. If you take significant damage or are slain outright, you automatically return to your natural state, which consumes your move action. If you use this spell to absorb a specific disguise, you automatically gain +5 and advantage to the disguise roll.
