Utility

You modify a spell you areabout to cast. The next spell you cast before the end of your next turn is modified by this spell or a spell you have already cast that has a duration remaining of more than 1 round.
The modified spell's area of effect can be reduced or enlarged by 10-feet.

If the modified spell's area is reduced to 0-feet or less, it becomes a targeted spell, the caster must select a target within range to be affected by the spell, and if the modified spell had a range of self it instead has a range of touch. If the modified spell has two or more measurements for its area of effect this modifies the lesser of the numbers. If the modifying an ongoing spell and the spell's area is reduced to 0-feet, target a creature within the spell's original area of effect, that creature is now the target of the spell.

If the spell to be modified does not have an area of effect and, deal any damage or require a spell save it is unaffected by this spell, and this spell ends.

Increase. The spell deals 2d4 less damage†, and the spell save DC‡ is reduced by 2.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher you can increase the modified spell size by an additional 5-feet, dealing 1d4 less damage and reducing the spell save DC by 1, for every two slot levels above 2nd.

Decrease. The spell deals 2d4 more damage†, and the spell save DC‡ is increased by 2.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher you can decrease the modified spell size by an additional 5-feet, dealing 1d4 more damage and increasing the spell save DC by 1, for every two slot levels above 2nd.

† - only applies to a single damage roll, damage can not be reduced to less than 1.

I exempli gratia;

A wizard, as a bonus action casts Altare Pressio using a 4th level spell slot, on their next turn they cast Fireball using a 3rd level spell slot. This allows them to modify Fireball in two different ways.
They can either increase Fireball's radius by 15-feet (35-feet total) , decreasing the save DC by 3 and damage dealt by 3d4 (minimum 1 damage dealt), or they could decrease Fireball's radius by 15-feet (5-feet total), increasing the save DC by 3 and damage dealt by 3d4.

II exempli gratia;

A wizard, as a bonus action casts Altare Pressio using a 4th level spell slot, on their next turn they cast Thunderwave using a 1st level spell slot. This allows them to modify Thunderwave in two different ways.
They could either increase Thunderwave's cube by 15-feet (30-feet total) , decreasing the save DC by 3, or they could decrease Thunderwave's cube by 15-feet (0-feet total) making it a targeted spell, and since Thunderwave's range was self it is now delivered by touch, increasing the save DC by 3.

III exempli gratia;

A wizard, as a bonus action casts Altare Pressio using a 2nd level spell slot, then on the same turn cast the cantrip Create Bonfire. This allows them to modify Create Bonfire in two different ways.
They could either increase Create Bonfire's cube by 10ft (15ft total) , decreasing the save DC by 2 and damage dealt by 2d4, or they could decrease Create Bonfire's cube by 10ft (0ft total) making it a targeted spell, increasing the save DC by 2 and damage dealt by 2d4.

IV exempli gratia;

A bard has cast Moonbeam using a 2nd level spell slot, two turns later as a bonus action they cast Altare Pressio using a 2nd level spell slot. This allows them to modify Moonbeam in two different ways, for 1 round.
They can either increase Moonbeams's radius by 10ft (15ft total), decreasing the save DC by 2 and damage dealt by 2d4, or they could decrease Moonbeam's radius by 10ft (0ft total) as Moonbeam is an ongoing spell, the bard must select a creature within Moonbeam’s original area of effect to be the target for 1 round, increasing the save DC by 2 and damage dealt by 2d4.
