An attempt to weaken a creature's attack(s) midway, that requires an attack roll or DC check. If the attack is rolled against AC, then the roll's total is lowered by 4. If the attack requires a DC check, whomever would need to roll a DC check will have a +3 to whatever they roll and any additions that they'd like to use to help the saving throw. You must cast this before damage calculation. (Inform DM that you use this.) This spell cannot be counterspelled. The spell last until the start of the targeted creature's next turn.
If the target is casting a spell of 2nd level or higher, make an ability check using your spellcasting modifier. The DC equals 7 + the spells level. This is made for each spell the target makes during this round. If you fail the roll, the spell in unaffected. On a success, the creature's spell fails and has no effect.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the spells are effected if its level is less than or equal to the level of the spell slot you used.
When casted at 3rd, 5th, 7th levels, the effect for reducing attack rolls is increased by +3 (7/10/13) and the effect for DC checks is increased by +2 (5/7/9)

Posted Jan 31, 2022Tried making a mix of, "Shield"/"Counterspell"/"Bless".
A totally defensive spell, that can protect others from a specific source.
Maybe the "To Hit is powerful" but it's 1 round. And weaker than "Shield" in that it effects 1 attacker, and the number it does is reduced at level 1.
Counterspell completely negates stuff, while this has the chance to not effect a spell of higher casting. Yes it's a easier DC, but it's not as strong as Counterspell, nor Silvery Barbs.
Unlike Bless, this is just checks from an attack from the target.
And yes this counts against a grapple. Since it has a DC check. Addition to why I don't write "DC saving throws".
