Through your magic visions, you can determine who made the object used on the casting of this spell, the last humanoid who touched it (except you, of course), and how many times they have touched it, but you only get vague results like "a few times" or "touched a lot".
You can also determine the crucial counterpart of the object touched. Using this spell on a key, for example, shows you mentally the description of the door it opens. A button shows the shirt it came from and a handle shows the teapot it was attached to. Your visions don't reveal the counterpart's location or anything else that isn't strictly part of the counterpart. For example, touching a doorknob only reveals the original door, not the walls it is built on or the general location (though you can suppose the location based on door's design).
A body part (such as a hair lock, an arm or a leg) only reveals it's owner's appearance, not their name or location.
