Vox Memento

When casting this spell, name a record command word and a listen command word.

After enchanting the gemstone, you may spend an action when the gemstone is within 10 feet of you, to whisper your record command word to begin recording sounds. The gemstone vibrates in an unnatural way when exposed to sound, and will record any sound within a 10 foot sphere centered on the gemstone. Each enchanted gemstone can record up to 8 hours of sound. Once the recording is full, the gemstone can’t record new sounds. You may spend another action to whisper your record command word to stop recording at anytime.

As an action, when the stone is within 10 feet of you, you may whisper your listen command word to listen to any recorded moment in the gemstone. You may rewind or fast-forward to any moment within the recording. You can’t change any of the previously recorded sounds.

After the spell's duration ends or if the magic on the stone is dispelled, the gemstone becomes inert and non-magical, and all recordings on it are deleted.

You can make a permanent Vox Memento gemstone by casting this spell on the same gemstone every day, at the same level originally cast at, for one week.

You may also cast this spell again on an already enchanted gemstone to delete all recordings from it.

Casting this spell on the same gemstone at a different level has a chance to permanently lose the original recording. Roll a d100, on a 25 or lower you lose the recording.
