A shrouded wall of shadows appears at a point you can see within range. The wall appears in any orientation you choose: horizontally, vertically, or diagonally. It can be free floating, or it can rest on a solid surface. You can make the wall up to 60 feet long, 10 feet high, and 1 foot thick, or a ringed wall 20-feet in diameter, 10 feet tall and 1 foot thick. The wall blocks line of sight, but creatures and objects can pass through it. One side of the wall, selected by you when you cast this spell, sheds magical darkness in a 30-foot radius. Creatures with darkvision can't see through this darkness, and nonmagical light can't illuminate it.
When the wall appears, each creature in the wall's area must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or be frightened of the wall for the spell's duration. A creature must also make this saving throw if it ends its turn in the wall or the magical darkness shed by the wall, or if it enters the wall the wall for the first time on a turn.
A creature frightened by the spell can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success.
