As an action, target one creature you can see within 60 ft to challenge in a Rock-Off. If the target is unwilling, it must succeed a wisdom saving throw or be compelled to battle in the ways known only to the God's of Rock. If they accept (or fail to refuse), a spiritual instrument suddenly appears hovering before you both.
When cast, roll a contested Performance check. Whoever fails takes 1d10 psychic damage.
Once initiated, the Rock-Off commences at the start of your turn increasing in damage by 1d10 for each contest. The opponent is not required to duel you on its turn but may if it chooses.
The spell ends if you use your action to do anything else or break concentration. If you willingly end the spell, no penalty is made but you must live with the knowledge that someone out there rocks harder than you.
The target needs not know how to rock, nor are they required to know any language as rock speaks through us all.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the initial damage increases by 1d10, for each slot level above 1st.
