A point designated by the outstretched palm of the caster instantly blazes with intensified heat. Within this 30ft circle the air shimmers, any small or medium volume of liquid boils, and the ground and objects within the circle glow red with heat. Any creature within the circle makes a constitution saving throw. On a failure the create takes 4d8 fire damage and half as much on a success. When the spell is cast if a creature within the circle is in contact with any mundane metal or liquid that would boil the target automatically takes an additional 1d8 fire damage.
When used at higher level spell slots the initial heat damage is increased by 1D8 per level above 3rd.
Additional: At DM's discretion any fire damage that would be reduced by spells such as "Water Wall" could be ignored by this spell.
Lore: At this spell casting level traditionally fireball is considered the bread and butter of any battle mage. However, Magus Ashean's writings often describe the predictability and counter measures he faced when enemies were prepared for his fire based specialty. He went on to develop this spell to highlight the effectiveness of greater heat area based spells that utilize fast casting and nearly undetectable casting areas produced by heat's lack of visual flare. Usually catching more nimble targets that standard fireballs fail to capture.
