You tap deep into the madness of the Spiral and begin cackling your truths into reality in front of you.
By expending one charge of Distortion, you channel this power into yourself for up to one minute for as long as you can keep conscentration.
Until the spell ends, you can use an action to warp the area in front of you in a 15-foot cone.
You make a ranged spell attack against each creature and object in that area, on it, it deals 3d6 damage of a type determined by the type of transformations you cause in the area between slashing, piercing, bludgeoning, fire, or force. On miss it deals half as much damage as well as leaving the objects or materials in your wake permanently transformed into the materials or objects of your choice. Transformations inflicted upon the bodies of creatures in that area trigger an immediate wisdom saving throw to negate transformations on their body with the DC equivalent to 8 + Proficiency Mod + Wisdom Mod. Upon failure, target creatures are permanently transformed in the way that you specify. Creatures transformed in this way do not change racial bonuses, cannot be increased or decreased in size category, cannot be transformed in a way that would cause their body to no longer be able to sustain life, and in all ways are not effected in combat statistics. These targets must make this wisdom saving throw once a day every day for 5 days or until they succeed. Upon success they revert to their original form. If they fail in all 5 days, the effects of the spell are permanent and the target believes that their body had always been this way. This effect can only be reversed by the use of the Wish spell.
You may choose to warp the area in a way that traps one or more targets of your choice in that area. If you do, the damage is reduced by 2d6, to a minimum of 1d6, on each target you attempt to capture in this way. This causes targets to become grappled upon hit. Athletics checks to contest their escape use your Wisdom modifier instead of your Strength modifier.
(Note: Transformations in this spell can transform one material into another so long as the overall gold value of the objects, materials, and creatures does not change.)
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 2nd.
