When damage is dealt to a creature wearing armor that you are intimately familiar with you may cast this spell. Your voice fills with magical energy as you call out the true name of the armor. This call temporarily gives a slight animation and sentience to the armor, and creates a bond between the armor, and you. This bond connects your mind, body, and soul with the armor; while at the same time vastly empowering said armor with abjuration magic. Whatever the triggering damage is the wearer takes only half of the initial damage. The other half of the damage is transferred to you as the caster. This spell doesn't transfer any other effects that might accompany the damage.
If the armor is sentient and unwilling to take part in this spell the armor must make a charisma saving throw against your spell save DC. On a success the spell fails. On a failure the spell succeeds.
At Higher Levels. At 5th level, the initial damage prior to being halved is reduced by 1d4 (1d4). The damage reduction roll increases by 1d4 at 11th level (2d4), and again at 17th level (3d4).
