(Disclaimer: This is not a spell, it is a new rule for the artificer's magical tinkering ability. The only reason I made this a spell is because there's no option to homebrew a rule.)
Starting at 2nd level, you can attach a triggering condition to your magical tinkering.
The triggering circumstance can be as general or as detailed as you like, though it must be based on visual or audible conditions that occur within 30 feet of the object. For example, if you enchant a box to play a recording, you could instruct the box to activate when any creature moves within 30 feet of the object or when a silver bell rings within 30 feet of it.
You can also change properties of the effect based on details of the triggering condition. For example, if you enchant a sword to glow when an orc or a demon is within 30 feet, you could instruct the sword to glow brighter or softer depending on how close the creatures are, and to glow a different color if it detects orcs then if it detects demons.
The maximum range of the triggering condition increases to 60 feet at 6th level, 90 feet at 10th level, and 120 feet at 14th level.
