Journeyman Transmuters may learn this Cantrip upon reaching the 5th level.
As a bonus action, Transmuters who weild a bow or crossbow will say the spells’ word of execution when they have sighted their target and prepared a shot using a normal arrow or bolt. At that instant, the bow or crossbow and shaft of the arrow or bolt will gain the tensile strength of beastly bone and the launched projectile will gain increased velocity and heft for the duration of flight, until a moment after impact (see below for effects).
NOTE: this cantrip may not be used with magical bows/crossbows or arrows/bolts, as the imbeued magics in such weapons are many times stronger than this Wizard's Cantrip.
At the 5th level, the Transmuter changes the properties of the weapons to Griffon bone and the projectile deals an additional 1d8 piercing damage on successful hit. At the 11th level, the Transmuter changes the properties of the weapons to Chimera bone and the projectile deals an additional 2d8 piercing damage on successful hit. At the 17th level, the Transmuter changes the properties of the weapons to Behir bone and the projectile deals an additional 3d8 piercing damage on successful hit.

Posted Mar 11, 2019This cantrip was created so semi-dextrious bowcasters could have a functional alternative to scaling damage cantrips (Frostbite, Toll the Dead, etc.). Also, outside of Catapult, there's a slight lack in spells that deal in pysical damage (perhaps this was by design).
Constructive feedback appreciated.
