This ghastly spell allows you to magically tear the bones from a corpse and fashion them into armor for yourself, with an added combat benefit besides.

When you cast this spell, choose a corpse within range that you can see. Its bones violently exit and attach themselves to you granting a +2 bonus to your AC for the duration of the spell.

Additionally, the first time a creature hits you with an attack while you are under the effects of this spell the bones explode into shards, affecting any creature adjacent to you. Affected creatures must make a Dexterity saving throw, taking 3d6 piercing damage on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. The spell's effects then end.

At Higher Levels. Using higher level spell slots, you can create additional sets of bone armor that you can then grant to other creatures, provided there are enough available corpses (two sets of armor require two corpses, and so on). When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, you create one additional set of bone armor for each slot level above 1st.
