Describe key words about a topic to the wooden rat. This spell creates 1d4+1 rats made of force energy that run from your hand towards written materials, such as books or scrolls. Each rat decreases the research time, if any, presented by your DM.
When a rat of force hits a written material containing one or more key words, the rat is absorbed by the item, which starts glowing with yellow light, and emitting a soft ring, heard only by you. The item hit in such way will remain glowing, and ringing for up ten minutes or until dispelled.
The spell can locate a specific book or scroll or written material known to you, as long as you have clear recollection of its name or the author's or even its contents. And only if said item is really present at the place, since the spell cannot create the item out of thin air, only locate it within range.
Similar to Locate Object spell, this spell can't locate an object if any thickness of lead, even a thin sheet, blocks a direct path between you and the object.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, you may create 2 additional rats, and the range increases to 30 ft. for each slot level above 1st.
