You create a zap of lightning that arcs toward a target of your choice within 10 feet. This zap then leaps from that target to another target, which must be within 10 feet of the first target. Then the zap leaps again, to a third target within 10 feet ofnthe second target. A target can be a creature or an object and can be targeted only once, meaning the zap can’t go back and forth.
All targets must make a Dexterity saving throw. The first target takes 1d6+2 lightning damage on a failed save, the second target 1d6+1 and the third target 1d6. A target takes half as much damage on a successful saving throw.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, another target is added and all targets take 1 lightning damage extra for each slot level above 1st.
