By gathering threads of shadow material from the Shadowfell, you unleash a flock of shadowy ravens creating a cacophony of whispers heard only by the creatures affected. Each creature of your choice in a 20-foot-cube within range must succeed on an Intelligence Saving throw or take 2d8 psychic damage and be affected by the spell for the duration. A creature with an Intelligence score of 4 or lower can’t be affected by this spell.
An affected target has disadvantage on Wisdom ability checks, and experiences a strong negative emotion. When casting this spell roll a d4 to determine the negative emotion.
1-Guilt: The creature immediately drops whatever it is holding and has disadvantage on attack rolls
2-Despair: The creature can’t use reactions, and its move speed is halved
3-Fury: The creature can’t willingly move away from the closest enemy it can see and if able to, it must make an opportunity attack against any creature leaving its range
4-Sorrow: The creature immediately drops prone, sobbing uncontrollably, and is incapable of normal speech or casting spells with a verbal component
At the end of each of the affected creature’s turns, the creature must succeed on an Intelligence saving throw or take 2d8 psychic damage. On a successful save, the spell ends for that creature.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, the size of the cube increases by 10 feet for each slot level above 3rd.
