You crush the fire ants between your fingers and rub the smashed mixture over your exposed flesh. The smashed ants liquefy, and the liquid covers your body in a thick, translucent sheath. The fluid sheath of acid does not harm you. You can breathe normally and cast spells while the acid sheath is present.
Any creature which hits you with a melee attack takes 2d10 acid damage. Weapons with the Reach quality do not endanger their users in this way. The sheath does not protect you against other types of damage, such as fire.
If you are grappled, creatures in the grapple take the acid damage at the beginning of their turn
In addition, while the sheath surrounds you, any spell you cast which deals acid damage deals an extra 1 point of damage per die.
* - (a handful of fire ants, which are consumed in the casting)
