A sword made entirely of elemental fire burst into existence, orbiting around you. Whenever a hostile creature moves within 5 feet of you for the first time on a turn, it must make a dexterity save as one of the swords strikes at it. On a failed save, the creature takes 2d10 fire damage. On a successful save, the creature takes half as much damage. As a bonus action on your turn, you either can create another sword or command one of your existing swords to attack a target within 30 feet of you. Once a sword has made an attack, either from your command or from a creature moving within 5 feet of you, it ceases to exist.
When your concentration on this spell ends, any remaining swords you have explode outward in a burst of fire. Each creature in a 10-foot-radius sphere centered on you must make a Dexterity saving throw. A target takes 1d10 fire damage for each remaining sword when your concentration ends on a failed save, or half as much damage on a successful one. You may have a maximum of three swords at a time.
At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the maximum number of swords you can have summoned at a time, as well as the number of swords you create when you cast this spell, increases by one for each spell level above 1st.
