You cast the spell on a suit of Plate within range. Your spell animates the target, raising it as a vigilant bodyguard. The target becomes Animated Armor under your control(the GM has the creature's game statistics).

As a bonus action on each of your turns, you can mentally command the armor if it is within 120 feet of you. You decide what action the armor will take and where it will move during its next turn, or you can issue a general command, such as to guard a particular chamber or corridor. If you issue no commands, the armor only defends itself against hostile creatures. Once given an order, the armor continues to follow it until its task is complete.

The armor is under your control for 24 hours, after which it becomes inanimate and falls to the ground if not in place to remain standing. To prolong the animation of the armor for another 24 hours, you must cast this spell on the armor again before the current 24-hour period ends. This use of the spell reasserts your control over up to two suits you have animated with this spell, rather than animating a new one.

The armor for all intents and purposes is considered a creature until the spell ends.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, you animate or reassert control over two additional armors for each slot level above 4th.
