You evoke a swirling tether of wind and use it to bind a creature you can see within range. Make a grapple attempt against the target. For the purposes of initiating and maintaining this grapple, add your spellcasting modifier and your proficiency bonus to your rolls, in place of Strength (Athletics). If the target successfully resists the grapple or escapes the spell ends.

While the target is grappled by this spell, you can use an action to send a surge of concentrated chill through the tether, dealing 1d6 cold damage to the target. The spell then ends. 

This spell's range increases by 30 feet when you reach 5th level (60 feet), 11th level (90 feet), and 17th level (120 feet). Additionally, this spell's cold damage increases by 1d6 when you reach 5th level (2d6), 11th level (3d6), and 17th level (4d6).
