Summoning

A plantlike spirit grows out of the ground near you, and uses the Plant Spirit stat block.When you cast the spell, choose a type of plant - Vine, Tree, or Mushroom , which determines the creature's appearance as well as certain traits in its stat block. The creature disappears when it drops to 0 hit points or when the spell ends.

The creature is an ally to you and your companions. In combat, the creature shares your initiative count, but it takes its turn immediately after yours. It obeys your verbal commands (no action required by you). If you don’t issue any, it takes the Dodge action and uses its move to avoid danger.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, use the higher level wherever the spell’s level appears in the stat block.

False Appearance. While the creature remains motionless, it is indistinguishable from a normal plant.

Entangling Vines (Vines Only) The assassin vine can animate normal vines and roots on the ground in a 10 foot radius around it. These plants turn the ground in that area into difficult terrain. A creature in that area when the effect begins must succeed on a Strength saving throw or be restrained by entangling vines and roots. A creature restrained by the plants can use its action to make a Strength (Athletics) check, freeing itself on a successful check. The DC for the Strength check and Saving Throw are 10 + this spell's level.

Spores (Recharge 5-6) (Mushroom Only). A 5-foot radius of spores extends from the creature, and can go around corners. Each other creature in the area must make a constitution saving throw (DC is 10 + this spell's level). On a failed save the creature is poisoned for 1 minute, and takes 1d4 poison damage at the beginning of it's turn. A creature can repeat the saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on itself on a success.

Actions

Multiattack. The beast makes a number of attacks equal to half this spell’s level (rounded down).

Rake. Melee Weapon Attack: your spell attack modifier to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 1d8 + 2 + the spell’s level slashing damage.
