You animate a drawing or a symbol on an even surface, giving it vague sentience and an objective which it needs to complete. The animated mark can be given a simple trigger, objective, and personality which works with the object or creature it is personifying. The mark itself cannot interact with its environment, as it is technically a 2D illusion which can only move by sliding on semi-flat surfaces. It can only move within 500 feet of it’s original spot, and may only communicate non-verbally with gestures. If it is given a trigger for activation, the mark will stay inanimate and dormant until activated or damaged. Once activated, it will only have 1 hour to complete its objective before it disappears. The spell ends when the mark is either damaged or it completes its objective, which will be known to the caster of the spell, no matter the distance. The objective or trigger of the mark has to be relatively simple and straightforward: if the instructions are convoluted or cannot be reasonably completed, the mark will simply act as the thing it is personifying until the spell runs out.
