A creature within line of sight from you makes a Dexterity saving throw against your spell save DC. On a success the spell misses and a 5 sq. ft. area behind the target is engulfed in black flames. if a creature passes through this area they become engulfed in the black flames. On a failure the target becomes engulfed in the black flames dealing 2d10 fire damage at the beginning of each of the creatures subsequent turns. These flames do not produce light and cannot be extinguished unless the creatures HP is reduced to zero, or until the user ends the effect. The user must make a constitution saving throw against their own spell save DC or is temporarily blinded. roll a d20 to determine how long you are blinded for.
- 1-2: You are blinded as a curse until Greater Restoration is used to remove the curse.
- 3-10: You are blinded until you complete a long rest or until someone cures you with Lesser Restoration.
- 11-15: You are blinded until you complete a short rest or until someone cures you with Lesser Restoration.
- 16-19: You are blinded until you succeed a DC 15 Constitution saving throw or until someone cures you with Lesser Restoration.
- 20: You are blinded until the start of your next turn.
This spell's damage increases by 1d10 when cast at higher levels and both of the spell saves DC increases by 2 when cast at higher levels.
