When you cast this spell, you can use a bonus action on subsequent rounds to hurl a bolt of lightning up to 40' away. Make a ranged spell attack; if you hit, you deal 2d8 lightning damage to the target. You have advantage if the target is wearing medium or heavy metal armor.

At Higher Levels: When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd or higher level, the damage increases 1d8 for each slot level above 2nd.
