A blob of slime is launched to coat an enemy. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 8d8 acid damage. In addition, any nonmagical armor they are wearing is partially dissolved and takes a cumulative -1 penalty to the AC it offers. This AC reduction occurs if the ranged spell attack is higher than the target's unarmored AC but lower than their AC when wearing the armor, though the creature takes no damage from that particular attack. The armor is destroyed if the penalty reduces its AC bonus to 0.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 6th. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 8 level or higher, increase the AC penalty to -2.
