By using the powers of divination to continually glimpse a few seconds into future, the caster is able to anticipate and react to nearby threats before they occur. While concentrating on this spell, the caster gains the following benefits:
- The caster may use their Intelligence (INT) modifier rather than their Dexterity (DEX) modifier for the purposes of determining AC.
- The caster may use their Intelligence (INT) saving throw instead of Dexterity for DEX saving throws.
- As a reaction, in response to an event or action that causes the caster to make a saving throw, the caster may end this spell to roll an additional d20. They may do this after the first roll has been made but before the outcome has been determined. The caster chooses which d20 is used for the saving throw.
Because perceiving the immediate future in this way is so disconcerting, once this spell ends, the caster cannot cast Acute Apprehension again for one minute.
Rumor has it that this spell was developed by a little-known diviner/astromancer named Balthazar Bafflebrock after he studied similar arcane techniques being used for the viewports of war wagons in Avernus, but this history has not been confirmed.

Posted Oct 21, 2023This is fantastic! A bit situational, but for a Divination wizard it may bring some diversity to their Divination spells!
It looks like the final save, can be any type of saving throw. This looks good. I like that it was written this way.
