The spell captures some of the incoming energy, lessening its effect on you and restoring some of your life force. You have resistance to the triggering spell until the start of your next turn. Also, you absorb some of the incoming magic and heal a number of hit points equal to the level of the spell plus your spellcasting modifier. If the spell or ability has no spell level you just heal an amount equal to your spellcasting ability modifier.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the healing increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 1st.
