Wail of the Departed

The Caster draws upon of a keepsake or heirloom of a person who was murdered and channels the trauma of their violent end towards those who wish harm against the caster, summoning forth a horrifying scream.

When cast the target must make a Wisdom saving throw or suffer 5d6 necrotic damage and is paralysed until the end of their next turn

If they succeed the target only takes half damage and is not paralysed. 

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d6 for each slot level above 4th.

Finally, every time the spell is cast, there is a 30% chance that the component is destroyed in the spell.
