Armor of Thorns

Hard, woody thorns and stems sprout from your body and armor, warding you from harm.

You gain +2 to your AC, and when a creature within 5 ft. of you hits you with a melee weapon attack, the creature takes 2d4 piercing damage.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 4th level or higher, creatures damaged by the thorns take an additional 1d4 piercing damage per level of slot above 3rd. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, you gain an additional +1 bonus to AC for every two levels of slot above 3rd.
