Choose a living creature you can see within range. You magically drain moisture from its flesh, causing it to die in agony. A creature targeted by this spell must make a Constitution saving throw, taking 10d6 + 40 necrotic damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. In either case, if this damage reduces the target to 0 hit points, it dies, leaving behind only a fragile husk that powders to ash at the least touch. The creature can be restored to life only by means of a True Resurrection or a Wish spell. Water elemental's and plants have disadvantage on the saving throw to avoid this spell
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, the damage increases by 3d6 for each slot level above 6th.
