A specter of a far-off entity is sent to your aid to channel a spell you cast that requires concentration. It can concentrate on any spell you cast for the duration of Spectral Counsel, and while it does so you may concentrate on another spell. You cannot switch concentration on a spell between you and the specter.

The specter itself is not a creature and can take no damage, but it channels aid from a creature whose type is your choice of aberration, celestial, fey or fiend, and it floats around you. If you willingly enter an area where this creature type is prohibited, the specter departs until you leave that area, and its ability to aid you is suspended until it returns. The specter can be targeted for banishment, or subject to banishment from an area, or subject to forced removal from your person by conjuration magic that targets creatures such as vortex warp, and it uses your saving throw modifiers. If any such forced removal from your person is successful, the specter dissipates and the spell ends. If the specter is in an area where creatures of the type it represents are forced to return to their plane of origin, the specter dissipates and the spell ends. You may end the spell at any time.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 7th level or higher, one additional specter appears for each level above the 6th. Effects listed above that dissipate a specter only end the spell if they dissipate the last specter.
