You Conjured the essence of death and blast it towards a creature within range. Make a ranged spell attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes 1d6 necrotic damage and gains a status affect called decay. The first saving throw for decay is done the following turn as to only have 1d6 damage the turn the creature is hit.
As you grow in level, you gain greater mastery over the power of death. At 5th level, the creature becomes frightened upon a hit. At 11th level, the spell now does 2d6 damage and the target now has two separate instances of decay and must making two separate saving throws for each condition of decay. At 15th level, the creature takes 3d6 damage initially and now has three instances of decay.
At 20th level, the creature now has a chance to be a ghoul under the command of the caster if they die under with the status decay caused by this spell. Roll 1d100, if a target creature is tiny, the target turns to ash. If the target creature is small, rolling a 50 or higher will transform the target into an undead variant itself with the stats of a Zombie Child. If the target creature is medium, rolling a 75 or higher will transform the target into an undead variant itself with the stats of a ghoul. If the target creature is large, rolling a 90 or higher will transform the target into an undead variant itself with the stats of a Zombie Horror. If the target creature is huge, rolling a 95 or higher will transform the target into an undead variant itself with the stats of a Horror Knight. If a creature is huge, a roll of 99 or higher will transform the target into an undead variant itself with the stats of a Varghulf. If a creature is gargantuan, a roll of 100 will transform the target into an undead variant itself with the stats of a Skeletal Dragon. These creatures do not disappear until destroyed or dispelled. They count towards any other limit on companions, summoned undead, or anything else of that nature.
Being an undead creature when casting this spell gives you advantage on all rolls and gives the target -2 to all saving throws.
Decay: Each turn, the creature makes a dexterity saving throw. If the creature succeeds the saving throw than the effect decay is removed. If the creature fails than the creature takes 1d4 necrotic damage. Decay does stack as though it is affecting two different creatures. In other words, each separate condition of decay rolls its damage and saving rolls separately. A limb that takes more than a forth of that creatures total hit points worth of damage due to decay is lost (rounded up).
