When you perceive a spell being cast, as a reaction, you can cast this spell to alter one aspect of the spell. If the spell is higher than first level, make an Intelligence Check DC 10 + spell level of the altered spell.

  • Target: When you alter a spell that has a single target, you can change the target to your self or the caster. To change it to the caster, make a Intelligence Check against the caster's Wisdom Saving Throw. If the caster succeeds, the target is changed to your self.
  • Increase: You can increase the number of die rolled for the spell by 1. (Example: If you alter a 3rd level fireball spell with Increase, it does 9d6 fire damage instead of 8d6 fire damage.)
  • Decrease: You can decrease the number of die rolled for the spell by 1. (Example: If you alter a 3rd level fireball spell with Increase, it does 7d6 fire damage instead of 8d6 fire damage.)

At Higher Levels: You do not need to make the Intelligence Check for Spells that are equal or lower level than the spell slot used to cast this spell. In addition, the number of die Increase or Decrease is increased by 1 for each spell level higher than 1st(Example: if Alter Spell is cast at 2nd Level, Decrease decreases the number of die rolled by 2)
