You brandish the weapon used in the spell’s casting and make a melee attack with it against one creature within 5 feet of you. On a hit, the target suffers the weapon attack’s normal effects and then becomes poisoned with toxic energy until they succeed a Constitution saving throw. If the target fails the saving throw, the target takes 1d6 poison damage until they succeed the saving throw.
This spell’s damage increases when you reach certain levels. At 5th level, the damage the target takes increases to 2d6. Damage rolls increase by 1d6 at 11th level (3d6) and again at 17th level (4d6). Every Acid Blade attack you make before the enemy succeeds the Constitution saving throw stacks on top of one another, therefore if you hit someone with Acid Blade twice before they succeed the throw, they take 2d6 poison damage on their turn at level 1, scaling proportionately to the level.
