Copious amounts of tangled, black hair fill a 30-foot radius sphere that you can see within range. For the Duration, the hair turns the ground in the area into Difficult Terrain and the interior of the sphere into magical darkness.

When a creature enters the affected area for the first time on a turn or starts its turn there, the creature must succeed on a Dexterity saving throw or take 4d8 magical slashing damage and be Restrained by the hair until the spell ends. On a success, the creature takes half damage and is not Restrained for the turn. Regardless of the result of the saving throw, the hair makes it impossible to speak within the radius, and spells with verbal component cannot be cast.

For 1d6 days after the casting of the spell, any creature that was caught in the sphere will still find long strands of hair on their person and possessions, however much they might try to clean it. Nothing short of a Wish spell can automatically clean the creature of the hair.
