For the duration, you infuse your mind with the ability to extend its consciousness to discern the secrets and mysteries surrounding relics or places. When casting the spell, you may choose what to project your consciousness to:
An Object: You learn the secrets of any object from the moment of its creation until the moment you cast this spell, you can focus on specific segments of the object's timeline and determine if a creature had possession of it and what deeds might've been accomplished with it. If the object is infused by magic, you understand the magic that affects it and learn of its use if any. If the object is imbued with a magical trap such as a Glyph of Warding, the trigger is suppressed and you can choose to dispel it given the warding spell is not higher than 5th level.
An Area: When you cast this spell this way, a 15 foot radius area is filled with amber ethereal dust. You can name or describe an event of significance that took place in the area. The spell recreates the events with semi-translucent figures and objects. You can only hear sounds that were originated within the area. If the events take place outside of the range of the spell, any sound is indistinguishable and any translucent figure disappears.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, you can use an action to switch the material component of the spell until the spell ends. Additionally the radius of the spell increases by 15 feet for each slot level above 5th.
