You manifest a circlet of elemental chaos that whirls above your head, thrumming with a kaleidoscope of arcane energy.

Roll a d10 when you cast the spell and at the beginning of each of your turns while you have concentration. The number rolled on this die determines the polarity of the circlet until the beginning of your next turn, as shown below. You may spend a bonus action on your turn to expend this polarity by making a ranged spell attack against a creature. Once you expend a polarity of the circlet, it cannot be used again (reroll the d10 if you roll an expended polarity). On a hit, the target takes 3d8 of the listed damage type and must succeed on the associated saving throw or be affected by the listed condition. Each target affected by a condition from this spell may repeat its save at the end of its turn, ending the condition on a success.

d10 Damage Type Save/Condition
1 - grants 3d8 temporary hit points
2 Cold DEX, movement speed halved
3 Fire all other creatures within 10ft. must succeed DEX or take same damage
4 Force STR, pushed 10ft. in a random direction
5 Bludgeoning CON, stunned
6 Necrotic CON, max HP reduced by 8
7 Poison CON, poisoned
8 Psychic INT, frightened (of you)
9 Radiant WIS, blinded
10 Thunder CON, deafened

A creature affected by this spell cannot be affected by any other function of the spell at the same time; you choose which condition to sustain if you would affect a creature already affected by this spell.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 6th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 5th.
