You unleash crashing waves and streaks of lighting in a 10-foot high cylinder centered on you with a 30-foot radius. First, choose up to two creatures in the spell's area to make a Dexterity saving throw as lightning strikes towards them. On a failed save, a creature suffers 2d8 lightning damage and has disadvantage on the next saving throw they make against this spell. Then, creatures in the spell's area must make a Dexterity saving throw as waves batter them. A creature suffers 4d8 bludgeoning damage on a failed save, or half as much on a success. A Large or smaller creature that fails its save also suffers one of the following effects, which you choose when you cast the spell:
- The creature is knocked prone
- The creature is pulled up to 10 feet towards you
- The creature is pushed up to 10 feet away from you.
- Unprotected flames in the area are immediately doused by the surge of water.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 5th level or higher, the damage increases by 1d8 for each slot level above 4th
